Adam Rippon read out some of his fan mail and it was beautiful
Adam Rippon has been a hit at this year’s Winter Olympics, not only because he won a bronze medal but for just being genuinely hilarious and cute especially on social media.
So when the games were over, fans were left thinking ‘what next?’.
But they didn’t have to wait long, and they were, in fact, the focus of his attention.
After leaving Pyeongchang, Rippon shared a video of himself reading out his favourite fan mail, and it is as hilarious as it is sweet.
Rippon posted the video of himself, set against a stark white background, in which he says he will read out some of his favourites.
He captioned the thumbnail of the video with: “Of all the letters and messages I’ve gotten, this is definitely one of my favs. I love you, Alexis E.”
Starting: “Dear Adam Rippon. We love you,” laughing as he reads it.
The letter is actually from first-grader Alexis E who gushes about her admiration for the out gay star.
She continues: “We hope you win for the USA. We hope you get a gold medal. I know you’ll do a good job.”
He reads: “You are awe – some. You rock. I love it when you spin and you’re close to the ice. Good luck. From Alexis E”
Before thanking Alexis E with: “Alexis – Thanks you so much. And ooo-la-la.”
Fans dubbed the frenzy over Rippon the term “Ripponitis”.
One fan wrote: “Seriously, you need to stop! I am a 41 yr old guy with ripponitus. They are not sure how long am going to last but there talking about a crowd fund page to find a cure.”

In an interview earlier this week, the Team USA athlete said he did not want to just be an example to gay people, but to everyone.
“I think one thing I want people to come away (with) from this competition is that I’m not like a gay icon and I’m not America’s gay sweetheart,” said Rippon.
