Eric Trump calls Gus Kenworthy ‘disgusting’ for throwing shade at Ivanka Trump

Eric Trump has called gay Olympic skier Gus Kenworthy “disgusting” for shading his sister Ivanka Trump.

Ivanka led the US delegation during the Winter Olympics Closing Ceremony on Sunday, much to Kenworthy’s amazement.

The silver medal-winning US athlete attracted praise for the shade he threw at the President’s daughter, who is an advisor in the White House.

The Olympian tweeted a picture as he and the rest of Team USA made their way to the closing ceremony, writing: “So proud of all these people!

“Everybody here has worked so hard to make it to the Olympics and have the opportunity to walk in the closing ceremony!

“Well… Everyone except Ivanka. Honestly, tf is she doing here??”

Speaking on Fox News show Fox & Friends, Eric lashed out at the gay icon.

In a slightly rambling response, he said: “I think it’s disgusting.

“I mean, you’re talking about school shootings back in the US, you’re talking about – and then you see this. I mean, the Olympics is a time of happiness.

“We did great; we won so many gold medals; Ivanka is an unbelievable representative of this country; she is so poised, she is so elegant, she’s a role model for so many people.

“So to hear that, that’s not what the Olympics is about. Politics should not enter into the Olympics. It does bother me, and it should bother us as a society.”

Referring to President Barack Obama’s daughters, he added: “Can you imagine if Sasha or Malia went over to the Olympics and somebody said that about them?

“That’s not what the Olympics is about. The Olympics is actually a great avenue to escape everything we talk about all the time, some of the worst things in society.

“It’s a way to get away from the nonsense, and this is just – it’s gross.

“It’s disgusting. Ivanka is beautiful, she’s elegant, she was an incredible representative of this country and we should be very proud of her.”

It’s not the first time the Team USA athlete has been outspoken about an administration which has repeatedly targeted LGBT people in its policy decisions.

His kiss with actor boyfriend Matthew Wilkas on live TV last week drew acclaim and celebration from far and wide.

Kenworthy has also vowed to reject any invitation to visit President Donald Trump’s White House after the Games, and criticised the choice of anti-LGBT Vice President Mike Pence to lead the US delegation in Pyeongchang.

And he revealed on Instagram that he had saved a puppy from a dog meat farm in South Korea.

“I adopted the sweet baby in the first pic (we named her Beemo) and she’ll be coming to the US to live with me as soon as she’s through with her vaccinations in a short couple of weeks.

“I cannot wait to give her the best life possible!

“There are still millions of dogs here in need of help though,” he added.
