Queer Eye couple Tom and Abby have broken up

Queer Eye was rebooted on Netflix last month and fans were immediately gripped on the lives of eight Georgian men that featured in the series.

We were treated to the delights of the ā€œStraightest Gay Guy in Atlantaā€ and ā€œBelow Average Joeā€, but the very first episode got everybody hooked.

Redneck Tom Jackson was the first of the fab five makeoverā€™s and his ā€œcanā€™t fix uglyā€ rhetoric had everyoneā€™s heart literally broken.

But the five worked their magic and transformed Tomā€™s life.

His wardrobe, basement flat and appearance got a complete overhaul making a more polished version of the Tom we all loved.

His episode came to an end with the ā€œdumb old country boy from Kentuckyā€ rekindling a love with his ex-wife, Abby.

“I love Abby more than anything. She says she loves me, I know I love her,” he shared in the episode before inviting her to a car show. “You’ll have to ask her why she’s not with me.ā€

The show finished with Tom inviting Abby for another dinner date and we had all the hope for the pair.

Now, only a month after the show has aired, Tom has taken to Twitter to tell his fans of the sad news.

He tweeted: ā€œI just watched my episode for about the 20th time. I cry like a baby every time I watch it.

ā€œJust to let the world know, Abby and I are no longer together.

ā€œShe will always be the love of my life. I will always love her more than anything!ā€

Before announcing their split, Tom had shared some past happy memories with Abby, including the day they got married, as well as days they shared together throughout their years of marriage and since they filmed the episode in the summer.

Fans of Tom have sent him messages telling him his love life is bound to get barn track soon.

ā€œYouā€™ll find the perfect woman for you. Proud of you, Dad! Keep up the positive changes! Love You!ā€ wrote his daughter, Katie, who nominated him for the show.

Another person wrote: “We all love you! You are an amazing man and please donā€™t give up hope for love!!! In the mean time, enjoy your life, all the new positive changes youā€™ve made, continue to grow, and enjoy your grandson.ā€

However, other followers of tomā€™s love life were disappointed at the news.

ā€œThereā€™s no hope for any of us,ā€ one person wrote.

A second said that they were ā€œsobbing uncontrollablyā€.
