Adam Rippon wore a leather harness to the Oscars and it was truly iconic

Figure skater Adam Rippon made an appearance at this year’s Oscars in iconic style, wearing a leather harness with his suit.
Rippon had a spectacular Winter Olympics on and off the ice while becoming – as he put it – “America’s sweetheart.”
He won a bronze medal as Eric Radford was becoming the first-ever openly gay man to win a gold medal at the Winter Olympics.
Rippon turned his success and charisma to the red carpet of this year’s Oscars.
The Olympian cut through the usual drama of who wore what dress as he wore a leather harness under his tuxedo, with cutouts at the shoulder.

The tuxedo was designed by the creative director of Moschino, Jeremy Scott.
Rippon posted a selfie on his Instagram story, giving fans a taste of his full gag-worthy outfit which also featured a leather bow tie.
“Just something casual,” he wrote before heading off to the Academy Awards, showing off his sense of humour.

After redefining red carpet fashion forever, many people took to Twitter to express their reaction to Rippon’s bold choice of formalwear.
In a word, people were thirsty.

One fan of the outfit wrote on Twitter: “Somewhere in heaven, Oscar Wilde, Harvey Milk, James Baldwin, and Michelangelo just shared a margarita.”
Another called Rippon’s style multifunctional, saying the outfit was perfect for ‘when you get a Scruff notification at a work function.’
“When you’re going to the Oscars at 6 but gotta get to a S&M party by 10,” said another fan.
The outfit even caught the attention of model and America’s Next Top Model host Tyra Banks.
Banks tweeted a photo of the outfit, captioning it: “Hoe, but make it fashion.”

Rippon replied to Banks, saying that the model and fashion icon understood his look.
“FASH-HOE-N. YOU JUST GET IT.” He wrote after the Oscars.
