Ricky Martin celebrates his sexuality and gets very raunchy with other men in new Fiebre video
Ricky Martin has built his career upon his smokin’ hot bod – but now, at 46, the veteran singer, who came out as gay in 2010, has swapped the sex of his dance partners from women to men.
In the new Latino track, which Ricky sings in Spanish, toned male dancers reveal their muscular physiques and hold one another as Ricky looks provocatively on.
Puerto Rican raggeaton stars Wisin & Yandel also feature in the video in racy leather policeman-themed outfits, paired with dark glasses and leather caps.
The upbeat return, the first from Ricky’s as-yet-untitled 11th studio album, is set in an abandoned rural mansion filled with fire dancers and belly dancing women.
Despite the odd moment of male-to-male intimacy, Ricky is largely belting passionately while standing alone in a ripped vest – there’s room for more guy-on-guy action in later singles for sure.
This is Ricky’s first foray into music that shows off his sexuality. The Livin’ La Vida Loca singer has described the process of coming out as ‘extremely painful’, after having been told not to reveal his sexuality by close friends who feared it would bring an end to his career.
But at this year’s Oscars, Ricky explained how far he’d come to Metro’s Guilty Pleasures. Speaking of the landmark Fiebre video, Ricky said: “I just allowed it to happen. I’m so open to everything right now.”
After his initial fame in the late Nineties, Ricky’s fame fizzled, but the star has found overwhelming success again in recent years.
Earlier this year, Ricky played Antonio D’Amico, Gianni Versace’s lover, in The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story.
It was Ricky’s first significant TV role since his stint in General Hospital in the 1990s, and the show’s popularity also meant something personally for Ricky.
Versaci’s murder – though still shrouded in mystery – was near definitely a homophobic attack, so exploring that territory was fulfilling for the star.
Of the killing, Ricky explained: ‘For me that is an injustice… The most important thing was to be able to be a spokesperson for, maybe the LGBT community, and say open your eyes.
“We’re still being attacked and a lot has to be done,” he insisted to E! News.
Ricky Martin married partner Jwan Yosef in a secret ceremony in January of this year. The pair dated since 2016, and announced their engagement on the Ellen DeGeneres Show in November 2016.
The couple have twin sons, Valentino and Matteo, both 9, who were born to a surrogate mother.
