Male gymnast Jacob Moore accuses convicted serial molester Larry Nassar of abuse

A male gymnast has come forward and accused former Team USA gymnast doctor Larry Nassar of sexual abuse.
Jacob Moore has joined a civil federal suit against Nassar after alleging that he was abused for almost a year.
Speaking at a press conference, the 18-year-old said that he visited Nassar for an injured shoulder.
However, the former doctor allegedly gave Moore acupuncture in his genitalia area.
He claimed that Nassar would “slowly work his way with acupuncture needles towards my inner groin.
“It’s frustrating when you have an injury and thinking you’re gonna get legitimate medical treatment, and you’re not getting that, for sure.”

The suit states that “there is no known medical connection between shoulder pain which can be treated through acupuncture in the area of a male’s genitalia”.
Because of this, “Moore believes the conduct of Dr. Nassar was sexual assault, battery, abuse, molestation and harassment performed by Defendant Nassar for Defendant Nassar’s sexual pleasure and gratification.”
Moore joined the USA Gymnastics team in 2006.
He allegedly reported the year-long abuse to the team but was dismissed.
Moore’s attorney, Tom Waun, said the dismissal and failure to inform other gymnasts of Nassar’s abuse was “egregious”.
“Jake was a child at this time, and he was a young man who did not deserve to have this happen,” Waun added.
The gymnast, who is now a freshman at the University of Michigan, was inspired to come out about his abuse because his sister, Kamerin Moore, was one of 200 women who testified at Nassar’s criminal sentencing.
“I was inspired by my sister and everyone else in this community to come out and help bring change to what allowed this to happen
“I don’t want other victims to be scared to come out because of stigma that guys can’t be sexually abused or taken advantage of,” he said.
Moore explained that he and his sister do not talk about the abuse they experienced much because they do not want to be “consumed” by it.
Nassar worked as the physician for the team for nearly 20 years but was dismissed from his roll in 2015 after the team received complaints.
He has pleaded guilty to criminal sexual conduct and admitted to using his position as a medical professional to sexually abuse his patients under the guise of treatment.
He has been sentenced to decades in prison on the charges, alongside several child pornography charges.
