Gay people in Australia should apologise for child sex abuse, says conservative journalist
A conservative journalist in Australia has outraged the nation by suggesting that gay people need to apologise for child sex abuse.
In a column for the Spectator, right-wing columnist Piers Akerman argued that Australia needs to apologise to victims – and Sydney’s Mardi Gras should foot the bill for compensation.
“One apparently obvious inference from the report’s statistics is that it is mainly boys who are victims (63.6 percent) and it is mainly adult men who are the perpetrators (92.8 percent male, and 83.8 percent adult),” he wrote.
“In short, child abuse in institutions seems to be committed mainly by homosexual men, preying on vulnerable and disturbed children displaced from their own families.”

Ackerman, who is also a climate change sceptic and has had three named witnesses come forward to say that they have seen him sexually harass female employees in the workplace, said that the pink pound has no interest in supporting victims of abuse.
“Wealthy homosexuals and corporations generously supported the homosexual marriage lobby earlier this year but like the ABC, show no appetite for exposing or indeed even recognising the reality of homosexual abuse in institutions,” he added.
Naturally, the comments have not gone down well with the LGBT community in Australia, nor beyond.
