Sam Smith gets emotional about amazing LGBT tribute

Sam Smith has shown his appreciation for a fantastic tribute to him and his LGBT fans.
After entertaining the crowd at his latest tour stop at the SSE Hydro in Glasgow, the Thrill of It All singer posted about a beautiful sight which greeted him at the 13,000-capacity arena.
The stadium had been lit up – magnificently – in rainbow lights.

While it’s not clear whether or not this was in honour of the 25-year-old performer, Smith was quick to voice his support for what was at the very least an overt display of LGBT support.
He wrote on Twitter: “I can’t believe the SS HYDRO did this!! Has made me so emotional ️ ️ ️ ️ ️ ️ ️ ️ ️ ️ ️ ️ ️ “.
And his fans heaped praise on both the arena and their idol, for publicising the wonderful light show.
One wrote: “You deserve the world & more!! Glasgow loves you… please never leave. Amazing “.

Smith hit the headlines earlier this year when he said that his relationship with 13 Reasons Why star Brandon Flynn had made him think he deserved happiness “for the first time”.
The singer, who has released five number-one singles and two number-one albums – including The Thrill of It All, which recently went platinum – was unlucky in love throughout writing his new album, but was photographed kissing his new paramour in New York City in October, shortly before its release.
And Smith said the burgeoning love – which Flynn made Instagram official last month – may even have an effect on his music.

“On a personal level, I’m in a relationship right now and for the first time, I think I deserve to be happy,” the musician said.
“I’m actually asking myself if I’m going to be writing some happy love songs soon.”
Smith also claimed that he wasn’t a ‘proper’ gay man when he released In the Lonely Hour in 2014.

“In the past few years, I became a gay man properly,” said the star.
“When I wrote that first album, I was in love with a straight man, he didn’t love me back, and I was very comfortable in my longing.
“With this record, I became a gay man.”
