Piers Morgan to host UK version of RuPaul’s Drag Race

Piers Morgan will host a new, British version of RuPaul’s Drag Race.
In a shock move, the Good Morning Britain presenter has confirmed that he is renouncing his previous anti-trans views to join Celebrity Drag Race ahead of the programme’s launch on ITV.
In a statement to PinkNews, Piers admitted that he had “occasionally crossed the line” with his repeated verbal attacks on non-binary people.

But, he added: “It is now time to sashay away from those views.
“I’ve done a lot of growing – thanks in large part to my GMB co-host Susanna Reid – and I’m ready to leap into the world of drag racing.
“So attention, all glamazons: I look forward to starting all the gentlemen’s engines – and you better work!” said the former America’s Got Talent judge.

Sources close to Reid have indicated to PinkNews that she often catches Piers looking in her dressing room when she’s not there.
When asked about this, Piers said – rightly – that there was “nothing wrong with looking at nice clothes!”
Here’s hoping that the ITV presenter gets the chance to experiment with drag during the show.
British audiences can look forward to this sort of sight
Simon Cowell, who knows Piers from his America’s Got Talent days, will be executive producing the programme.
And Piers won’t be the only A-lister to display their beat face on the programme, with comedian David Walliams set to appear as a guest star.
The 12 contestants are being held under wraps for now, though One Direction star Harry Styles has been rumoured as a potential participant.

Responding to the news on Twitter, Lord Alan Sugar – who famously has a rivalry with Piers – wrote: “Have you heard? Talentless @piersmorgan is going to judge other people!
“So nothing new there then,” he added.

The news will however be surprising to former GMB guests like Fox Fisher and Owl, who were attacked by Piers on the show last year.
He told them: “Schools are now running riot with non-binary kids. It’s like a contagion.”
The host also said that non-binary kids were “a massive new fad,” asking the pair: “How many trans youths in Britain [died by] suicide last year?

“I’ve heard it’s like, two or three people,” he answered himself. “It’s incredibly small.”
Everyone is allowed a chance to change, though, and Piers has assured PinkNews that after being dragged through the mud for his mistakes, he is now a new man.
Well, Piers – condragulations, good luck, and don’t f**k it up.
The show will premiere on June 31.
