Britney Spears finally met Adam Rippon and it was incredible

Britney Spears and Adam Rippon have finally met in person, and the star power was almost too blinding.
The pair tweeted their adoration for each other during the Winter Olympics.
Britney wrote: “Hey @Adaripp… I just wanted let you know that I am a fan, I am not in denial, and that you are THE MOST FUN!! Keep making us all smile at the #WinterOlympics and good luck today ✨⛸”.

And the Team USA ice skater responded: “I could feel you on the ice with me @britneyspears.
“I now have an OVERWHELMING desire to post Instagram fashion shows, google stock imagines of corn, and paint on the balcony of my dorm in the Olympic village. Thank you for not being in denial, LOVE YOU”.
And before the GLAAD Media Awards last night, the bronze medallist tweeted again to express his excitement at the potential meeting.

He said: “Heading to the #GLAADawards and I’ve got Britney Spears Instagram fashion shows on my mind.”
Then they met – two celebrity worlds colliding in a pure display of star power.
Speaking to the audience about his hero, Rippon said: “Every time Britney does a runway walk on Instagram, a little gay child gets his wings.”

And then it was time for the main event, with Britney entering the stage to massive applause.
After picking up her Vanguard Award from fellow singing sensation Ricky Martin, she said to her adoring fans: “This is so incredibly amazing.”
And in a moving speech, she told the crowd: “I feel like our society has always put such an emphasis on what’s normal, and to be different is unusual or seen as strange.
“But to be accepted unconditionally and to be able to express yourself as an individual through art is such a blessing.
“Events like this, the one here tonight, show the world that we’re not alone. We can all join hands together here and know that we are all beautiful.”
She continued with praise and gratitude for the LGBT community.
“We build each other up and show our gifts without hesitation,” said the star.

“Being a mother has shown me what it means to love unconditionally, and you all in this room have shown me throughout my career what it means to be loved unconditionally.
“Thank you so much to GLAAD, thank you to the LGBTQ community and my family and friends, and to all of my fans.”
During the Pyeongchang Games, Britney also tweeted Gus Kenworthy, who reunited with Rippon last night at the awards show. The two sportsmen even kissed on stage.

Big Bang Theory actor Jim Parsons was also honoured with the Stephen F. Kolzak Award for his activism in the name of eliminating homophobia.
But he was too starstruck to talk about much apart from Britney – like most the attendees, we imagine.

“Britney got here before I did?” he said. “The Queen should go last!”
Hilariously, he thanked GLAAD “for putting me in a room with Britney Spears.”

He joked that he wanted Britney to make a guest appearance on his show, Young Sheldon, saying: “I consider this my first step in my charm offensive to get her in it.”
Parsons, who married his long-term boyfriend Todd Spiewak last year, added that just as she had done for Rippon, Britney had inspired him professionally – and just when he needed it most.
The actor said that back when he was auditioning for graduate schools in the late 90s, he was “oh-so-nervous.”

But the …Baby One More Time video gave him all the encouragement he could have desired.
“I remember watching [Britney] dance-walk down that school hallway in that Catholic school uniform with those cute little pigtails,” Parsons said.
“And I remember feeling this sense of: ‘Oh yeah, that’s it. You can do it. You go out there and do it like Britney, and you get it.’
“So thank you, Britney!”
