Drag Race star Robbie Turner’s employer: ‘inconsistencies with story’ of fatal car crash
Questions are being asked about RuPaul’s Drag Race queen Robbie Turner after she claimed to have been involved in a serious traffic incident.
The season eight queen wrote on Twitter that she was involved in a drink driving crash that killed an Uber driver.
However Uber and local police have said they do not have records of the incident.
Seattle Gay Scene reports it has not been able to find any corroborating evidence.

Now the drag star has agreed to take personal leave from her role as Queer/Bar’s Entertainment Director and as its weekly drag show host.
Queer/Bar in Seattle has raised concerns over the authenticity of the story posted online.
Joey Burgess, Queer/Bar’s owner and operator, told Seattle based news site The Stranger that “Robbie will be taking some time away to try to figure out what’s best for him.”
In a statement, Queer/Bar confirmed that “the company learned of this supposed incident last weekend from Robbie’s social media post.”
They added: “In full support of our friend and manager, we reached out to evaluate Robbie’s condition and offer any help with his physical and mental recovery.
“We also reached out in an attempt to support the driver’s family in their difficult time. And then we discovered some inconsistencies with the story.”
Turner, real name Jeremy Baird, reported taking an Uber home on the night of April 14, after performing at Queer/Bar, when the car was hit by an apparently drunk driver.
The Uber driver was killed in the collision, Turner claims.
Turner lost consciousness following the crash, but miraculously survived, coming round the next morning with little more than aches and pains according to tweets.
The Seattle born drag star – who said she’s “the nicest queen you’ll ever meet” – warned fans of the dangers of drink driving following the incident.
She wrote on Twitter: “I’m home with barely a scratch, but when I was informed of what actually happened, my closest family and friends came to mind,” Robbie tweeted. “Wear a seatbelt. I did.”
“They ran tests at the hospital, but outside of my shoulder feeling jammed & my right eye hurting, I only have a bruise,” Robbie said in another tweet. “Grateful.”
A spokesperson from the Seattle Police Department said: “I am not aware of anything like that occurring, nor are any of my colleagues aware of this accident.”
They were also told by a representative from Uber that none of their drivers had been involved in a drunk driving accident.
