Years and Years star Olly Alexander says he wants to be in a three-way relationship

Olly Alexander isn’t known for being shy about is sex life and sexuality.
The Years and Years singer has been an outspoken advocate for LGBT rights and diverse relationships.
Now he has revealed he’d love to be in a thruple – three person couple – but only if he could still live alone.
He told the BBC: “What I think would suit me was if I was in a thruple and the other two guys lived in a house nearby.
“I could visit them every now and then and they’d cook me dinner, and then I could just go home and watch TV by myself.”
Speaking about one of his past partners, the “Eyes Shut” singer explained: “He told me he was straight and we became friends, and at a certain point the relationship tipped over into something more intimate – and it felt like we were becoming lovers.
“And suddenly, there was just an explosion of pain and conflict.”
The performer also sang the praises of gay clubs, adding: “I think a lot about how clubs are almost like queer churches.
“You go and congregate and you dance. That’s always been a sacred experience for me, although it’s been both positive and negative.”
The star has said he is juggling the potential of an eternal single life after his search for Mr Right has proven to be more difficult that expected.
“I’m having much less sex than I did in my early 20s, for sure,” he said to Guardian Weekend earlier this month.
“The last few months I’ve been wondering, ‘Will I just be alone, for ever? And would I be OK with that?’ I want to be OK with that.”
Although Alexander tried to meet men through the likes of Grindr, he explained that no-one believed he was who he said he was.
“That didn’t go very well,” said the star.
“The longer you’re single, the more you notice how everyone else is in a relationship. But that’s a whole other thing,” he added.
