Singer-songwriter Ne-Yo responds to gay rumours
American singer-songwriter Ne-Yo has responded to rumours about his sexuality.
In a new episode of Madame Noire’s Spin and Spill the Tea series, Ne-Yo opened up about his love life – and touched on rumours that he’s a gay man, revealing that “nothing could be farther from the truth.”
When asked, “What’s that rumour that exists about you that you wish would die?” he explained that he supports the LGBT community, but added that he’s not gay – not least because he’s married to a woman.
“Taking nothing from homosexuality, love wins, love who you love – I’m just not gay,” he said.
“I ain’t never been gay, and when the whole gay rumour thing happened, that was one of the ones that kind of threw me a little bit.
“Anybody that knows me knows that nothing could be farther from the truth,” he continued.
Ne-Yo, who has released six studio albums and fifteen singles, finished by saying: “But again, love wins, love who you love, have no issue with it.”
On the subject of gay rumours, Kendall Jenner recently responded to questions surrounding her sexuality.
Because of her lack of a spouse, or showing off a spouse, it made everyone jump to conclusions that perhaps perhaps she was, in fact, bisexual or lesbian and had a female partner.
Speaking to Vogue, Jenner denied the rumours.
She explained that she thinks the rumours were sparked by the fact that she is not like her sisters “who are like, ‘Here’s me and my boyfriend!’”
“It was a thing for a minute because no one ever saw me with a guy,” Jenner said. “I would always go that extra mile to be low-key with guys, sneaking around all the time.”
“You don’t want to, like, look crazy,” she added. “But to answer your question: I’m not gay. I have literally nothing to hide.
“I would never hide something like that.”
