Woman ‘ordered contract-style rape of man by another man’
An Alaskan woman is reportedly accused of ordering a male acquaintance to rape another man in a “contract”-style sexual assault over a debt.
Julia Haworth, 30, allegedly gave the associate a “bottle” of alcohol as payment to carry out the attack in the small town of St Michael, on the western tip of the US state, the Anchorage Daily News said.
Tom Jamgochian, assistant district attorney for Nome, where court documents have been filed, described the alleged incident as a “contract”-style assault.
“I’ve never seen or heard of a case like this before,” he told the newspaper. “It is unique.”

The victim is said to have owed Haworth up to $15,000 (£11,000) for drugs and alcohol. Austin Matthias, 24, is accused of carrying out the attack.
According to a witness, Matthias and the victim were drunk in Howarth’s company when she told Matthias: “Austin, I am going to need you to rape [him].”
The victim said the last thing he remembered from the night was being punched in the face by his attacker.
He woke up in severe pain and an examination days later revealed extensive trauma, according to a signed statement, or affidavit.

The attack happened in April 2017 but details have only recently surfaced.
Howarth, of St Michael, has been charged with solicitation of sexual assault and first-degree sexual assault, according to the court motions filed in Nome.
Matthias, also of St Michael, has been charged with two felony counts of first-degree sexual assault. Their next hearing is set for May 17. Both are currently being held in jail.
St Michael is a village of about 400 people, some 400 miles west of Anchorage, Alaska’s largest city.
