Who is Ian Jordan? Queer Eye’s Karamo Brown is engaged
Queer Eye‘s culture expert — and connoisseur of dope bomber jackets — Karamo Brown is engaged.
Brown proposed to his boyfriend of eight years, Ian Jordan, on Wednesday night in Los Angeles, reports Entertainment Tonight, which was on hand for the engagement.
The pair were celebrating a birthday party for Jordan at HYDE Sunset restaurant. But the celebrations turned out to be for more than just Jordan turning a year older.
According to ET, Brown gushed over Jordan in front of friends and family and played him a sweet video of their time together.
After playing the clip, Brown said: “You are the funniest man I know, the kindest man, my biggest cheerleader. You made me feel like I could do anything.”
The culture maven proposed with a David Yurman ring.
People reports that Brown’s Queer Eye cast mates, Antoni Porowski, Bobby Berk, Tan France and Jonathan Van Ness were on hand for the party.
On Jordan’s birthday on Tuesday, Brown paid tribute to his boyfriend with a sweet message on Instagram.
He wrote: “Happy birthday to the love of my life @theianjordan! I love you because of your heart, your humor but mostly because you don’t mind serving #GlamourShots realness w/ me anytime I ask.
“I pray today and this year brings you everything your heart desires. #HBD #40ish #TurnUp”
Brown, 37, is a father of two. He previously told Parents.com that he didn’t realise he was a dad until his son, Jason, was 10.
He also legally adopted Jason’s half-brother, Chris, in 2011.
“I came out at 16-years-old as a proud, gay man. My last girlfriend in high school—when I was 15—became pregnant with my child but did not tell me,” the Queer Eye star said.
“She moved away, and I never had contact with her again – remember this is before social media.”
“I was confused, sad, angry, and weirdly excited to be a dad, but felt lost nonetheless.
“We were both kids and don’t blame her for the decision she made because the choice was not hers, it was the adults around us.”
Brown has shared numerous pictures of his sons on social media.
In an Instagram post dated April 16, he wrote: “I’ve been traveling a lot for work lately which is great… but as a single dad it’s really hard to leave my sons constantly!
“I am missing these two so much right now! Every decision I make is to better their lives…. but that still doesn’t stop the guilt I feel for being on the road.
“I’m so thankful for the opportunities so I’m not complaining. Any parents out there who get my pain? #MyloandPrince Aba loves and misses you both.”
