Adam Rippon reveals he’s moving in with his boyfriend

Adam Rippon is moving in with his boyfriend.
Just 51 days after telling the world that he was in a relationship with Finnish-born realtor Jussi-Pekka Kajaala, the history-making Olympic medallist has revealed that they’re going to live together.
Rippon, who became the first openly gay winner of Dancing with the Stars on Monday, said on May 13 that he and Kajaala were getting “serious” – and it seems he wasn’t kidding.

Kajaala, who he met on Tinder while at a skating competition in Finland last year, is moving to the US – and speaking today to People Magazine, Rippon opened up about their relationship.
When asked about what would happen when his boyfriend arrived, the 28-year-old figure skater said without hesitation: “We’ll live together.
“It’s a whole process to move out here, but I think it’s something that we’re both really looking forward to. It’s going to be a lot of fun.”

He was questioned about whether living together would change the couple’s dynamic, prompting him to quip: “I mean, that’s a dynamic change I’m like, very open to.”
During and after his incredible rise to fame this year, Rippon was courted by
Sally Field’s son, a TV host who asked him out during a live interview and the viral drag queen Elsa who suggested the pair hang out on The Ellen DeGeneres Show.
But when asked if he missed the single life, he replied: “Not really. What’s really nice is getting to share these experiences together with somebody.”

And he said that being in a relationship spanning more than 4,000 miles had actually helped, both personally and in terms of the way he is with Kajaala.
“What is something that’s a positive point of view from being in a long-distance relationship is that you have to really focus on yourself,” explained Rippon.
“I think that if you focus on yourself and you’re your best version, you bring the best version of yourself into that relationship.”

Rippon will enter this new stage of his life as a Dancing with the Stars champion.
Before his freestyle performance at the end of the four-week season, he said: “The Mirrorball has now taken on a new meaning. I never thought somebody like me would be accepted, but I really feel loved.”
The Olympian, who used the excellent hashtag “#TeamJustFriends” on the show, said he was “so grateful for this whole experience.”

Rippon had a spectacular Olympics on and off the ice while becoming – as he put it – “America’s sweetheart.”
He won a bronze medal as Eric Radford was becoming the first ever openly gay man to win a gold medal at the Winter Olympics.
