Demi Lovato has revealed she is “heartbroken” after being forced to pull out of her London show on Sunday night – just an hour before she was due onstage.

In an emotional tweet the 25-year-old singer said she was in tears after being diagnosed with swollen vocal chords, with her doctor warning that performing her O2 gig could jeopardise the rest of her Tell Me You Love Me tour.

“If I go on tonight and injure my vocal chords any more I could potentially have to cancel the rest of my tour.”

The show has now been rescheduled, with concert producer Live Nation confirming: “The show will now take place on Monday June 25th.

“All tickets will remain valid for the new date. Please contact your point of purchase for all ticket inquiries.”

Lovato’s fans soon flooded social media with support for her – once again leaving her in tears.

The “Fall In Line” singer later tweeted: “My fans are seriously the best… I can’t believe how much love and support I’ve received today.. the video of my fans singing skyscraper outside of the venue made me cry ”

This comes just a week after the US star issued an apology over what was deemed a sexual assault prank following huge backlash on Twitter when she told fans that she hired a prostitute to “surprise” her friend.

In a since deleted post, she wrote: “I hired a lady of the night in Vegas and sent her to Max’s hotel room to surprise him.

“She walked into his room without permission and grabbed him in his ‘area’ and he freaked the fuck out hahahaha.”

As her followers highlighted to her, the stunt could be considered sexual assault.

Lovato responded: “I swear I could tweet something about craving jelly beans and it would offend someone.”

Lovato later reminded people of her own experiences with sexual abuse.

“For all of those coming at me rn, listen to the lyrics of Warrior and maybe you’ll have more compassion for someone who made a simple mistake. Of all people I know about sexual abuse. You don’t have to educate me,” she said.

However, as fans refused to back down, Lovato said: “So sorry if anyone was offended ”
