Harry Styles flies ‘Make America Gay Again’ rainbow flag at concert
Harry Styles has proudly waved a “Make America Gay Again” flag during his latest concert.
The singer is a long-time supporter of LGBT rights, having performed with a rainbow flag draped over his microphone last year during his ongoing solo tour.
And while performing in Philadelphia on June 15, he once again cemented his status as a queer advocate.
Karla Balcazar, who created the flag which Styles used to make his statement, explained the chain of events on Twitter.
She wrote that the moment was close to never happening, as after 10 hours of waiting at the venue, she discovered that her ticket wasn’t valid.
“Turns out the tickets we got sold were sold to 57 other girls so basically we was all screwed,” she recounted.
“Okay so I had to buy floor seats so I can even get inside the venue and I told a security guard about our situation (JEFF IS AN ICON) and he told me that me and my friend can still go into GA bc he saw us waiting in line all those hours,” added Karla.
“Ok BUT THAT AINT ALL OF IT YALL. When harry came out and sang Only Angel HE BLEW ME A KISS,” she wrote, stunned.

There was more to come, though.
“Ok so after that everything was all fine and dandy and he was singing WMYB (What Makes You Beautiful) and HOMEBOY ASKS ME FOR MY FLAG A BITCH WAS SHOOK.”

We’re shook too, Karla.
Styles then proceeded to raise the flag – a kick-ass response to President Donald Trump’s “Make America Great Again’ campaign slogan – and proudly hold it up to the audience, who cheered and screamed their approval.
So that’s my concert experience in a nutshell! I’m home now and I’m looking at all these videos of Barry holding up my flag and I still can’t believe it! pic.twitter.com/RKEvOWtD7F

Karla added that “the rest of the night was truly magical.”
In March, the singer sparked speculation that he was coming out when he unveiled a new bisexual anthem, “Medicine,” with lines like “The boys and the girls are here, I mess around with them” as well as “I’m coming down, I figured out I kinda like it, and when I sleep I’m gonna dream of how you tasted.”
Styles also appeared to use bisexual lighting for parts of the song.
The star made a subtle jab at Donald Trump and his anti-trans policies in October, during his Washington DC concert – by waving a transgender flag.
Last year at a concert in Stockholm, Styles told fans: “If you are black, if you are white, if you are gay, if you are straight, if you are transgender – whoever you are, whoever you want to be, I support you.”
And fans were delighted when he kissed Late Late Show host James Corden during a festive edition of Carpool Karaoke.
Some of these supporters have even dubbed Styles a lesbian icon after he tweeted a line from King Princess’s “1950,” a song about lesbian love.
