Kathy Griffin calls Melania Trump a ‘feckless piece of s***’ after statement on separated immigrant children
Kathy Griffin has branded Melania Trump a “feckless piece of shit” in a series of furious tweets.
As Donald Trump’s immigration reforms sees immigrant children separated from their families at the border, Mrs. Trump, 48, said she “hated” what was going on – but didn’t acknowledge that her husband had the power to change it.
A statement claimed: “Mrs. Trump hates to see children separated from their families and hopes both sides of the aisle can finally come together to achieve successful immigration reform. She believes we need to be a country that follows all laws, but also a country that governs with heart.”
However Griffin, who has a history of huge grievances with the president and his family, soon called out the First Lady’s statement.
Taking to Twitter she fumed: “Fuck you, Melanie. You know damn well your husband can end this immediately … you feckless complicit piece of shit.”
As social media quickly picked sides, with Trump supporters calling Griffin the “nastiest woman in America”, she refused to back down.
Once again referring to Melania by Trump’s previous typo, she wrote: “Melanie made a statement about what’s happening with children/families and said the solution was bipartisan leg (as if her husband cares about that). Her husband can stop the separation now. She waded into this, she’s gonna get criticized.
“Go fuck yourself and fuck Trump.”
She later added that the only members of the family who could be free from receiving hate his youngest children, Tiffany, 24, and Barron, 12.
Griffin posted: “This President, his family (except for Tiffany and Barron) and his administration, do not deserve an ounce of grace, decorum, respect, or kindness. They are horrible people who are operating a criminal enterprise. So stop with the lectures about ‘unhelpful language’ – FUCK TRUMP”.
The 57-year-old comic’s career derailed in May last year when she post a picture of herself holding Trump’s bloodied “head.”
The graphic image caused an uproar, with Griffin being forced to apologise for the “stunt” in a grovelling video – which she later retracted.
She admitted the photoshoot “crossed the line”, but said the abuse in response had gone too far, and went on to label the 45th president a “bully”.
“I am not afraid of Donald Trump.
“He is a bully,” she remarked of the controversy.
“A sitting president of the United States and his grown children and the first lady are personally trying to ruin my life forever,” she said.
“You guys know him, he’s not going to stop.”
Attorney Lisa Bloom added: “The message is clear: criticise the President, lose your job.”
Griffin was fired by CNN for the stunt.
The channel had employed her to host their New Year’s Eve show with Anderson Cooper since 2007, but declared she will not be hosting their show again.
A CNN spokesperson called the photos “disgusting and offensive.”
Cooper said he was “appalled by the photo shoot.”
“It is clearly disgusting and completely inappropriate,” he wrote on Twitter.
Chelsea Clinton, daughter of Hillary Clinton, who won the most votes in the 2016 election, called the photo “vile and wrong.”
“It is never funny to joke about killing a president,” she wrote on Twitter.
Squatty Potty, a line of footstools for toilets, also axed Griffin from their advertising campaign following the images.
Additionally, Route 66 Casino Hotel in New Mexico announced on Facebook it had cancelled a performance by Griffin scheduled at the resort.
