Rapper XXXTentacion has been shot and killed, aged 20.
He was leaving a motorcycle dealership in south Florida on Monday when a gunman targeted him. He was taken to hospital and pronounced dead.
The rapper, whose real name is Jahseh Dwayne Onfroy, shot to fame with two consecutive hit albums – despite having a history of violence.

According to The Guardian, by 17, XXXTentacion had been charged with possession of a firearm, armed robbery, resisting arrest and Xanax possession. During a second prison sentence he revealed that he attacked an inmate because he believe he was gay for looking at him.
In an interview with the No Jumper hip-hop podcast in 2016, he said: “Do you think I can tell the story about that faggot I beat up?
“They came to me and asked me if they could put him in my room. I laughed and said, ‘Ya’ll can put him in my room. But if he does anything I disapprove of, I’m gonna kill him, and I’m not going to give you any warning. I put it on my life.’”
He continued: “One day he just got ‘suss’, […] started staring at me throughout the day.”
He said that following a shower he, “saw this n**** staring at me while I was putting on my jumpsuit […], I started beating his face in. You want me to be graphic with it? I grabbed his face and put it on the corner type-shit – we have these concrete slabs of beds – I threw his head on the corner and started stomping. I tried to strangle him. Long story short, I was gonna kill him.
“I’ve got his blood all over my hands, all of my chest, literally… I was going crazy. […] I smear his blood on my face, on my hands, I got it, like, in my nails, I got it all over me.”

Last year, Onfroy served time in prison for aggravated battery of his pregnant girlfriend and false imprisonment.
At at the time of his death he was awaiting trial for battery, false imprisonment and witness tampering, all of which he pleaded not guilty to.
Onfroy was at a car dealership at 4pm local time yesterday when he was killed, after two men approached him, officials say.
At least one of the men shot him, with witnesses reporting hearing multiple shots, before heading off in a dark coloured SUV.
Despite his well-documented history of violence, he still had a loyal fanbase, with Kanye West leading the tributes and calling Onfroy “inspiring.”

Last night he tweeted: “rest in peace […] I never told you how much you inspired me when you were here thank you for existing.”
Blogger Ethan Dolan wrote: “RIP xxxtentacion, regardless of his controversial past, he did not deserve to die, especially so young. I respected him for preaching/spreading positivity and the lives he touched in a positive way. Gone too soon, so terrible. His music/art will live forever.”
And Big Sean tweeted: “My heart dropped when I heard about @xxxtentacion, I feel like we only got to see a glimpse of his artistry. I didn’t know him personally but I respect how passionate he was about his music and message. Nobody deserves this kind of ending. gone too soon, damn! RIP”
