Sam Smith and his boyfriend 13 Reasons Why actor Brandon Flynn have split up after a nine-month “whirlwind romance.”
The pair, who had been dating since October of last year revealed on Wednesday that they had ended the relationship last week.
As of June 27, several photos of the pair together appeared to have been deleted from Smith’s Instagram.

A source close to Smith told The Sun: “Sam and Brandon had a real whirlwind romance. They really fell for each other.
“But they are both so busy with their careers and unfortunately things just haven’t worked out. Sam is obviously devastated.
“This is the most significant relationship he has ever had.”
It is believed that the pair began to date just before the release of “The Thrill of It All,” Smith’s second album.

The 26-year-old singing sensation has released five number-one singles and two number-one albums – including The Thrill of It All, which has gone double platinum since its release.
The pair were seen strolling in New York arm in arm in October, which led a fan on Instagram to post pictures of the couple looking loved-up.
Smith then spoke to Ellen DeGeneres about the relationship, confirming that the pair were dating.
In January, Smith gave a touching interview about his relationship with Flynn, admitting that the relationship made him think he deserves happiness “for the first time.”
“On a personal level, I’m in a relationship right now and for the first time, I think I deserve to be happy,” the singer told film star Sarah Jessica Parker.
“I’m actually asking myself if I’m going to be writing some happy love songs soon.”

In February graphic pictures of the pair kissing in New York City hit the headlines.
One commentator remarked that the lip-locking looked like Smith’s “first ever kiss,” and the tweet went viral.
Smith took the viral tweet in his stride, explaining the photos as a joke between the couple.
The Stay With Me singer said: “We were just waiting outside the shop while my sister got cigarettes. I was just joking.”
