Paris Jackson confirms she is bi and says she has been out ‘for years’
Michael Jackson’s daughter Paris has confirmed that she is bi – and says she has been out since age 14.
The 20-year-old daughter of Michael Jackson and Debbie Rowe made a splash this week after confirming she is into girls.
Asked if she is bi in an Instagram Q&A, Jackson replied: āThatās what you guys call it so I guess, but who needs labels.ā
The moment was picked up by media outlets as Jackson “coming out” – but the activist was quick to point out she has been out and proud for years.
She tweeted: “EVERYONE HAS KNOWN FOR YEARS I CAME OUT WHEN I WAS 14 WTF.
“like how many pictures are there with me kissing females?????? jesus i can count pics of at least 4 different girls that were leaked in the past 6 years. WHY IS THIS A THING
“how many times have i publicly referred to the community as ‘my fellow LGBTQ+’? like even on stage.
“iāve been apart of the community for years. i even mentioned having crushes on girls when i was 8 in a magazine before. iāve been caught kissing girls in public. this is not newsā¦”
Her comments are similar to those of actress Kristen Stewart, who was widely pictured in public with her girlfriendĀ before she confirmed her sexuality in 2015.
Stewart’s girlfriend was referred to repeatedly as her “gal pal” in tabloids over photosĀ of the pair cuddling and kissing. Stewart eventually confirmed: “Google me, Iām not hiding.”
Jackson alsoĀ retweetedĀ a post praising her late father for bringing her up in an inclusive environment.
The Twitter user had written:Ā Ā “remember when your father joked with you saying ‘oh, you have a girlfriend!’, you were raised with an open mind and that’s the best thing in the world.”
However she was not willing to divulge any details of her dating life.
Asked if she was seeing Paper TownsĀ actress Cara Delevingne, she shot back:Ā āNone of your goddamn business.ā
Jackson recently backed Caitlyn Jenner’s rumoured plans to run for the Senate in the US.
She tweeted that āCaitlynās got my voteā, citing the lack of transgender people in politics.
Jackson added: āIād rather [Orange is the New Black star] Laverne Cox run for senate but hey beggars canāt be choosers.ā
Responding to critics of Jennerās conservative stance, Jackson added: āI mean I hear the LGBTQ community doesnāt really endorse her, but regardless, having a trans woman in office is still a step forward.ā
