Pamela Anderson says Fortnite and YouTube videos cause asexuality

Pamela Anderson has said YouTube and video games like Fortnite are causing men to become asexual.
Asexuality is one of many sexual orientations and is usually defined as someone who does not experience sexual attraction.
But according to the 51-year-old model and former Baywatch star, it’s brought on by new technology.

She made the comments while answering public questions about love and sex for Dazed magazine.
Anderson, who was introduced as a “beacon of sensuality, sensitivity, and sexuality” was asked about “a boy who is going through an ‘asexual’ period,” who the reader wanted to help “feel sexual again.”
In response, Anderson theorised that people are being made asexual by the amount of time they spend in front of video games, online videos and “cyber film stars.”

She said these technological advancements, along with “germ phobias,” are making men lose their ability to feel sexual attraction, combining to create “a dangerous time for good sex.”
Anderson, who has also appeared in numerous films and reality shows, wrote in response to the idea that men suddenly become asexual: “I heard that this is an epidemic.
“Or maybe it’s an evolution in the age of technology and germ phobias,” she added.

“Does he watch a lot of explicit pornographers or video games? Does he feel numb? Is he sure of his sexuality?
“Too much masturbation or fantasies about cyber film stars or video games like Fortnite seem to be an addiction.”
Fortnite is an incredibly popular shooter survival game where you either have to fight off zombies or other players, depending on the mode. It’s not clear how Anderson thinks the animated game affects a person’s sexuality.

“Wasting time,” she wrote, continuing what appeared to be a stream of consciousness. “Is YouTube taking up his time? It’s a confusing time with so much access to so much visually.
“I guess you must be brave – experiment with getting his attention. But don’t blame yourself. Does he share what he fantasises about? What gender? What are his fears?”
She added: “Being a lover is vulnerable, especially to a sensitive person. An empath dives deep and can get depressed, and some are just afraid of love.
“We share our souls forever with someone we share our bodies with, and that can be scary. A computer has no attachment. And multiple bodies to look at to get excited about.

“It’s a dangerous time for good sex. We must do all we can to keep human connections – we are stronger in pairs.”
The star then seemed to tell the reader to dump their partner, writing: “Maybe have this conversation with him as a caring friend.
“And look for love and a great lover who isn’t afraid somewhere else.”

Her negative attitude towards video games seems to suggest that Anderson hasn’t played Pink White or Blue, a game released this year which allows people to experience what it’s like to struggle with your gender identity.
She also doesn’t seem aware of the barriers being broken by games like The Sims: Freeplay, which was banned in seven countries this year, allegedly because of its LGBT content.
