Hilarious viral tweet asks for opinions on ‘opposite sex marriage’

An ingenious tweet asking what people think of “opposite sex marriage” in the US has gone viral.
A study published earlier this year showed that no-one is 100 percent straight – and yet, people insist on continuing to hold opposite-sex weddings on a monumental scale.
Mimicking anti-gay activists and people who raise social justice issues like LGBT+ rights simply to inflame tensions, Twitter user Cyndi wrote: “Opposite sex marriage in the United States. What do you think? ” above a photo of Kim Kardashian and Kanye West’s wedding.

Underneath, she added: “Personally I find it weird.”
One person replied to the tweet, which has attracted more than 51,000 retweets and likes, by writing: “I agree that it is none of my business what they do with themselves but I refuse to be bullied into accepting it.
“Can they stop putting it everywhere? I can barely watch tv without it being shoved in my face.”

Cyndi, a pansexual tweeter whose profile says she lives in Lagos, Nigeria, responded: “Honestly truly, it’s a disease that’s eating up earth,” to which the commenter replied: “What about the children!”
Another user agreed with this point of view, saying: “Exactly, how am I supposed to explain that to my kid when they see a guy and girl kiss??”

One person pointed out the explicit nature of the tweet, writing: “Twitter needs to stop allowing people to put up offensive posts like this.
“How can a man and a woman be kissing?? How do we protect our kids from this?? The world is turning into something else.

Cyndi apologised, writing: “OMG I’m so sorry, I’ll put a trigger warning next time.”

One person came in with a righteous message, saying: “You should be ashamed of yourself spreading this heterosexual propaganda!

This is far from the first time that straight people have been made fun of in brilliant ways.
In June, a straight white male journalist was dragged after writing an article in The Spectator in which he moaned: “Heterosexuality is marginalised by our liberal arts culture.”
In another passage, he wrote: “Sex is nothing to be ashamed of, even the straight sort.”
Earlier this month, a definitely-not-homophobic man freaked out at the idea his dog could be gay and went viral as people flooded in to pour ridicule on his insecurities.
