The game is scheduled for a large roll-out across numerous platforms, with Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and Microsoft Windows all signed up for the latest Assassin’s title.
If you’re a Nintendo devotee, then there’s particularly interesting news concerning Ubisoft’s arrangements for the Switch.
Can I play Assassin’s Creed Odyssey on Nintendo Switch?
The simple answer is: yes, if you’re based in Japan.
After a successful trial of their cloud-based release strategy for Resident Evil 7: Biohazard—where Nintendo users paid to rent and stream the game over a network—the same option will be made available for Assassin’s Creed Odyssey. However, for now, that option is only being offered to the Japanese market.
This doesn’t mean that the same cloud-based streaming option won’t come to Switch users worldwide, eventually. The more successful these forays into the rent-to-play market prove to be, the more likely that Nintendo may decide to expand its current offering.
