Queer Eye season 3 will show first-ever lesbian makeover
Season three of Queer Eye is set to see the Fab Five making over a lesbian for the first time.
The show’s fashion expert Tan France revealed the news during an appearance on Netflix’s new show Patriot Act with Hasan Minhaj, whose first episode aires on Sunday (October 28).
While giving Minhaj a makeover, France said: “Did you enjoy season one and two? Okay, everything that you would’ve liked about [Queer Eye] Season 1 and 2, but amplified.
“It really is so good. They get me every week, like, those heroes get me every week—yeah, it’s the best experience.
“We have our first lesbian on the show this year, yep, and she’s formidable. What we do with her, I think you’re gonna love it.”
It comes after Queer Eye season two saw the Fab Five making over a trans man, 30-year-old Skyler, for the first time.
The second series also saw for the first time a woman, Georgia’s Gay town resident Tammye, receiving the care of the Fab Five.
Filming is currently underway for season three of Queer Eye in Kansas City, Missouri.
Season three is set to hit Netflix screens in 2019.

In September, Queer Eye picked up three awards at the Primetime Creative Arts Emmy Awards: Outstanding Structured Reality Program; Outstanding Casting for a Reality Program; and Outstanding Picture Editing for a Structured or Competition Reality Program.
In July, France spoke out about how racism had made coming out harder for him
In an interview with Shortlist, France said: “Being brown and gay made coming out harder.
“If I were Caucasian, I would have found the process easier. I have to battle so many issues, and the biggest is racism.”
The Fab Five have been keeping busy since season two.
Food expert Antoni Porowski has opened his own restaurant in New York, and had brunch with Canadian prime minister Justin Trudeau
Culture guru Karamo Brown announced his own range of gender-neutral bomber jackets.
Grooming expert Jonathan Van Ness, meanwhile, has bagged himself a thirst-trapping, rugby player boyfriend.
And design expert Bobby Berk caused mild controversy when he posted a photograph of himself, Van Ness and actor Candace Cameron Bure, who sided with some bakers who refused to serve same-sex couples on religious grounds in 2015.
Although the show has not featured any lesbian makeovers so far, a group of lesbians did create a parody of Queer Eye on YouTube and a lesbian version of the show is also in the works.
