Pansexual teen tricks ‘homophobic’ parents into buying her a Pride flag

A pansexual student has tricked her intolerant parents into getting her an LGBT+ flag.
The genius, who lives in the UK and goes by Paisley online, has gone viral with a tweet about this fantastic deception.
She wrote: “so i just convinced my homophobic parents to buy me a pride flag ‘not because i’m gay! just because it matches the colours in my room,'” before signalling her speechlessness by adding: “sJBBDBHJSBJ.”

Paisley followed this up by making clear that “i actually am Quite Gay so woo!! go me!!”
Many commenters used a meme originating in the Skyrim video game universe to shower the pansexual hero with praise, telling her that her sneak, power and deception levels were “100.”
She responded to compliments by saying self-deprecatingly: “i’m such an intellectual.”

And it seems like the viral star, who has been dubbed an “icon” by many of her fans, wasn’t the first to use Jedi-level mind tricks in order to blind intolerant parents to the truth.
“I DID THAT TO CONVINCE MY PRIDE STUFF WAS JUST BECAUSE THEY WERE MY FAVORITE COLORS SO NOW MY PARENTS THINK MY FAVOURITE COLOURS ARE PINK BLUE AND WHITE,” wrote one transgender fan, who was called a “king” for using this tactic.

Another master of deception wrote: “I convinced my homophobic parents, or rather, they convinced themselves, that the pride flag is the australian flag.”
This statement was met with an appropriate level of bemusement by one respondent, who said: “….how.”
And so, the person explained: “well i went to a concert of my fave band, cub sport, and they all signed my pride flag.

“My dad saw it and since cub sport’s from australia just kinda assumed it was the australian flag and i didn’t bother to correct him.”
But wait, there was a further twist, and it was glorious.
“What’s even crazier is that later i went to a hayley kiyoko concert and got her ‘#20gayteen‘ pride flag, and while staring at the ‘#20gayteen,’ my dad asked me if it was the australian flag,” they continued.
“Denial is quite powerful.”
20GayTeen is of course US singer Hayley Kiyoko’s name for this year, which has been taken on by countless fans of both the lesbian star and LGBT+ representation.

The “Curious” singer revealed earlier this year that she knew she was gay at six years old, but that it was years before she felt accepted.
Kiyoko, who many fans have dubbed Lesbian Jesus, said it was an isolating experience to know her sexuality from a young age.
“All the girls would go to the Promenade to hang out with cute boys, and it made me feel very alone,” she remembered.
“It was depressing to watch girls that I liked flirt with guys. So I just stayed home.”
