Jude Law: The world is ready for a gay children’s icon

Actor Jude Law has said the world is “ready” for a gay children’s icon (and, if it isn’t, it “it bloody well should be”).
Speaking to The New York Times, Law also addressed Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald director David Yates’ comments that Albus Dumbledore would not be “explicitly” gay in the movie.
Law, who plays Dumbledore in the movie, told the publication: “This film is not about his homosexuality, nor does his sexuality define him.

“But that relationship is certainly a defining element of who he is and what he’s about.
“I also don’t think he’s someone who has given his heart or his soul to many people. The aftermath of their relationship left him reeling, and he’s packed his heart in ice, to be honest, and no one’s quite thawed it.”

Law was then asked: “Is the world ready for a gay children’s icon?”
He responded: “I think the world is ready for it, and if it isn’t, it bloody well should be.”
Ezra Miller dazzles at Fantastic Beasts premiere
Law’s co-star Ezra Miller dressed as Hedwig and inked the deadly “Avada Kedavra” spell on his hands for the UK premiere of Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes Of Grindelwald.
Miller, who is well-known for his statement costumes, attended the film premiere at Leicester Square, London, on Tuesday night (November 13).
Miller reprises his role as disturbed child Credence Barebone in Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes Of Grindelwald, which was released on November 16 in the UK.

He also sported several large rings and had glitter painted just below his eyes.
The actor’s hair was styled in sharp-looking spikes.
It comes after Miller recently wore a majestic padded gown to the Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes Of Grindelwald world premiere in Paris, which some Twitter users said looked like a “human sex toy.”
Miller proudly donned his striking black gown, complete with hood and cape, on the red carpet event for the second installation of the Fantastic Beasts film series.
He added to his dazzling look by wearing burgundy lipstick.
Miller posed for photos along the red carpet and gave his autograph to fans.
