Courtney Act had one night stand with ‘famous straight British actor’
Courtney Act has revealed she had a one night stand with a famous British actor.
The RuPaul’s Drag Race star, who presents the bisexual dating show The Bi Life, told the Mirror she didn’t realise who her fling was with until afterwards.
Act, whose real name is Shane Jenek, said: “I did attract the attention of a certain gentleman whom I had intimate relations with and I didn’t know they were really famous.
“It wasn’t until I was sitting on the plane going home and I’m going to look up the person I had sex with last night.
“I typed their name in and was like ‘oh my god they’ve got loads of followers’. I didn’t know, I just thought it was a hot guy but they also happen to be quite a famous UK celebrity.”
Act added that the person identifies as straight.
Courtney Act on bisexual representation
In the interview, Act also spoke out about a lack of bisexual representation in reality TV dating shows.
E!’s ground-breaking The Bi Life has won praise from social media critics for representing the bisexual community—and helping to break down stigma.
The ten-part dating series follows a group of bisexual or questioning British singletons on an adventure to find love in Spain.
On the show, the cast live together, party together and help each other navigate the rocky road of dating.
Ahead of the premiere, Courtney Act, otherwise known as Shane Jenek, said: “As if this summer hasn’t been hot enough, we decided to crank it up another notch with The Bi Life on E!
“It’s high time there was a dating show for the large number of young people today, like me, who are attracted to more than one gender.
“In 2018 we know that sexuality is fluid and sharing the stories and experiences, the laughter and the love making, of young bi people is so important.
“So get ready to see the true stories of bisexual singles, who are the largest part of the LGBTQ+ community, but the least known.”
“Bisexual people suffer most from lack of visibility. They’re the largest percentage of the LGBTQ+ community and the least visible and least represented,” Act added.
“In the visibility that The Bi Life is delivering, it might not be the most activist-y or advocate-y but there’s a group of people having genuine experiences. That is an interesting and wonderful thing to watch.”
