Actor John Barrowman crossed swords with newly-crowned Emperor Noel Edmonds on Thursday night’s (November 22) episode of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!

Barrowman, who was a favourite to win the I’m A Celebrity when he entered the jungle, complained that the Deal or No Deal presenter’s humour didn’t “land well with me.”

“I’m probably being overly sensitive and it’s at this exact time that my husband would say I need a sandwich.”

Edmonds had already made a jibe at Barrowman before entering the jungle, calling him “the self-styled queen of the jungle.”

When he entered I’m A Celebrity, Edmonds was given privileges as Emperor, which he could also give to chosen campmates.

This power caused a rift in the camp.

At one point, Barrowman stood up to ask Edmonds a question, when the Emperor asked the actor not to itch his groin as he spoke to him.

Barrowman responded by saying he wasn’t scratching his crotch.

However, Edmonds wasn’t impressed with Barrowman’s comments.

Speaking to the Bush Telegraph, as reported in the Mirror Online, Barrowman vented: “I know he was trying to make a joke and be funny but it didn’t land well with me and for that moment I’m probably being overly sensitive and it’s at this exact time that my husband [Scott Gill] would say I need a sandwich.

“It’s not his fault and I’m an adult, I know that, it was just that moment and some of us are feeling ‘arhhh.'”

Barrowman has said he would want a gender neutral title if he wins the I’m A Celebrity crown.

“I would be over the moon if I won. I would be the King or Queen of the Jungle,” he said, before adding: “I want both crowns.”

Barrowman, who is openly gay, rose to fame on TV shows including Doctor Who, Torchwood and Arrow.

He recently told ITV that “eating bums, balls and willies, I’m totally cool with” ahead of the ITV show’s return on November 18.

The 51-year-old explained: “I will do my damnedest in challenges so that we’re not, any of us, hangry. If somebody is not motivated to get those stars, I might be unforgiving.”

As well as being a renowned actor, Barrowman is also a singer, presenter and author.
