The time has come. RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars 4 is about to sashay on to our screens and attempt to lip sync for the show’s legacy after last season’s daylight robbery in the controversial finale split the fan base.
The fans will always be united in their super-sleuth status, though.
The race to find out which queens are competing—as sacred a ritual as finale reveals, pointless guest judges and awkward revelations about RuPaul’s behaviour—was spot on.
So, whether you knew the make-up of the monarchical flock months ago, or are just a virgin queen, take a look at what we are expecting from RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars 4.
RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars 4 cast revealed
Monet X Change, Latrice Royale, Monique Heart, Trinity Taylor, Farrah Moan, Valentina, Jasmine Masters, Gia Gunn, Manila Luzon and Naomi Smalls will all battle it out for a place in the Drag Race Hall of Fame beginning December 14 on VH1.
I was disappointed Kim Chi won’t be there to melt our hearts with her subversive charm, makeup genius and well-known ho-mance with fellow Season 8 runner-up Naomi.
Similarly, I won’t be the only fan confused as to why Season 1 star Ongina hasn’t yet been offered her Ru-demption.
A special mention also to Willam Belli and Courtney Act, two of the most successful queens in the show’s herstory are certainly all stars in all but name.
But it’s hard to imagine they will be invited back to the Runiverse after Belli and Act’s spats with the deity herself.
They will be fine, and while I silently mourn, let’s turn our attention to this bunch of truly fierce competitors.
Y’all wanted a twist?
Despite Ben de la Christgate it is likely the winners of each episode will still choose which of the bottom two to eliminate.
But will the eliminated queens still pick the top two? Ru has already said she “didn’t count on the other girls who came back being so vindictive [by voting against Shangela].” Would she let it happen again?

I’m open to alliances
I would adore a strong Monet—Monique bond.
Both have a sickening supply of Charisma, Uniqueness, Nerve and Talent, were booted out before their time, and may need a friendly face having had less time to bond with queens from older seasons.
They’re also both called Kevin. I stan.

The Valentina—Farrah rivalry will be all claws. For sure.
I’d also put money on at least one spat between Valentina and Trinity.
But we’re sure to see a whole host of inter-season vendettas as they vote each other out of the chance to win $100,000.

Once married, twice shy?
I’m fascinated to find out how Manila and Latrice’s relationship has changed since their disastrous turn on All Stars 1.
The show didn’t have a realistic budget and so paired the queens up, to Latrilla’s detriment, in order to halve the episode count.
Will they be more determined to carve out their own paths this time? Or will the more seasoned queens be tempted to stick together?

The villain. The narrator. The ‘black’ horse.
The producers’ obsession with creating clear-cut characters won’t have dissipated, and we’ll fill in the archetype board as we go.
Just don’t be surprised if #Villaintina starts trending come the New Year.

Woking up?
You don’t need me to tell you the world has gone to hell.
That queer rights are under threat around the world.
That drag has always been political.
It was a delight to see The Vixen pay homage to this tradition and shine a light on the more problematic aspects of Drag Race and its fandom last season.
In RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars 4, there are real opportunities for the queens to continue this legacy.
It would show an admirable dedication to growth if the show allows Gia a chance to critique the way it has treated the trans community.
