I’m A Celebrity: John Barrowman returns to jungle after being hospitalised
John Barrowman has returned to the I’m A Celebrity jungle after spending a night in hospital due to a sprained ankle.
Barrowman hurt his ankle on Sunday night’s episode (December 1) of I’m A Celebrity when he tripped and fell over.
He was quickly carried to the medical area by campmates Malique Thompson-Dwyer and Nick Knowles, where his foot was X-rayed and he had a CT scan.

In a message played to his campmates, Barrowman said: “I am lying here sipping champagne in a hospital with six male strippers.
“Continue to live jungle life as normal. I want to be back in there with you all soon. But please get some rest this evening. Ps I want my f***ing dinner when I get back!”

However, the show’s makers have confirmed that Barrowman is now back in the jungle.
A ITV spokesperson told HuffPost UK on Monday (December 3): “John Barrowman sustained a sprain to his ankle but is now back in the jungle.”
Barrowman was excluded from Sunday night’s public vote, which saw Hollyoaks star Thompson-Dwyer being eliminated.

Co-presenter Declan Donnelly told viewers about Barrowman’s accident at the start of Sunday night’s I‘m A Celebrity episode.
“John Barrowman had an accident in camp last night and was taken to hospital,” Donnelly said.
“He was fine, he’s resting up but unfortunately we’ve had to exclude him from tonight’s vote until we know if he’s ok to return to camp.”
Barrowman was recently asked by fellow contestant Nick Knowles to hang up women’s underwear on the washing lining, sparking an online backlash.
The DIY SOS presenter was hanging up wet clothes during show’s episode on November 28 when he admitted he did not want to handle the underwear of the female contestants.
He asked Barrowman, who is openly gay, for help, saying: “I just don’t feel comfortable handling [women’s knickers]… would you hang it on the line? I feel like it would be inappropriate for me.”
But Barrowman pushed back: “It is in no way inappropriate for any type of male to pick up a pair of women’s knickers to hang on a washing line.”
