Kevin Spacey posts ‘weird’ comeback video as he’s charged with sexual assault
Kevin Spacey has come under fire for posting a “weird” comeback video on the same day it was reported that he has been charged with sexual assault.
Spacey posted the video on Twitter on Monday (December 24), making it the first time he has tweeted since he addressed sexual misconduct allegations made against him by actor Anthony Rapp in October 2017.
It came as the Boston Globe reported on December 24 that Spacey had been charged with the alleged sexual assault of the 18-year-old son of ex-Boston WCVB-TV news anchor Heather Unruh at a bar in Nantucket in July 2016.

In the video, Spacey appears as his House of Cards character Frank Underwood, seemingly addressing the dozens of sexual harassment and sexual assault claims made against him.
“Of course, some believed everything and have just been waiting with bated breath to hear me confess at all,” Spacey says in the video, which is titled “Let Me Be Frank.”
“They’re just dying to have me declare everything said is true and I got what I deserved. Wouldn’t that be easy?
“If it was all so simple. Only you and I both know it’s never that simple, not in politics, not in life.
“But you wouldn’t believe the worst without evidence would you? You wouldn’t rush to judgement without facts, would you? Did you? No, not you. You’re smarter than that.”
Spacey appears to then suggest that his House of Cards character could make a return to the Netflix show, saying: “You never actually saw me die, did you? Conclusions can be so deceiving. Miss me?”

Social media users blast Kevin Spacey for posting comeback video
Twitter users criticised Spacey for posting the comeback video.
“Kevin Spacey ain’t fooling nobody with that weird video he made,” one person said.
Another wrote: “‘You know what would redeem my public image!? If I juxtapose my sexual misconduct with the crimes of my murderous, corrupt, villainous character! That’ll make people love me again!'”
And a third person vented: “That’s so f*cking weird.”
According to the Boston Globe, Spacey is set to be arraigned over a charge of indecent assault and battery at Nantucket District Court on January 7.
In October 2017, at the height of the #MeToo movement, actor Rapp accused Spacey of sexual misconduct back in 1986, when Rapp was just 14.
He claimed Spacey invited him to a party at his New York apartment, and while drunk, tried to seduce him by climbing on top of him.
Spacey apologised to Rapp over his allegation in October 2017, saying he could not remember the incident.
While addressing Rapp’s accusations in a statement, Spacey also came out as gay.
He was widely criticised by the LGBT+ community for coming out as gay in the same statement he used to appress Rapp’s sexual misconduct claims.
Since Rapp’s claim dozens of other sexual misconduct allegations have been made against Spacey.
