Andy Cohen hits back at homophobes after NYE show with Anderson Cooper
Andy Cohen has hit back at homophobic responses to his New Year’s Eve show with Anderson Cooper.
The Watch What Happens Live host co-hosted CNN’s annual New Year’s Eve Live countdown show in New York City alongside CNN anchor Anderson Cooper, stepping into the shoes of embattled comic Kathy Griffin.

While fans loved the dynamic between Cooper and Cohen on the show, the pair have also faced a slew of anti-gay responses.
Andy Cohen shut down internet trolls after New Year’s Eve Live
Cohen appears to have taken it upon himself to respond to the haters in the best way possible.
One Twitter user wrote: “Leave it to a couple of @CNN pansy assed prima donnas to think the rules don’t apply to them. You deserve to be throat punched just like @Acosta … screw your New Year’s Eve Andy…I hope your 2019 is filled with a dire need for @abreva. [cold sore medicine]”
Cohen responded: “I only need Abreva after you’ve been kissing me all night dude. Speaking of, we are overdue.”
The TV star also came under fire from Trump-supporting actor James Woods, who posted a clip of the pair with the caption “Men in 2019…”
Quoting Woods’ tweet, Cohen responded: “Assholes in 2019…”
Responding to the news that Cohen is expecting a baby boy, one user with wrote: “Please grow up before you become a dad.”
Cohen replied: “Please do something about your hair before tweeting me again.”

Cohen made a special announcement on the New Year’s Eve broadcast, revealing he is expecting a baby son via surrogate.
He told Cooper: “It’s a boy, and I cannot wait to meet this boy. I’m so excited.
“I did it with a surrogate…when I was growing up and when we were growing up, I just never thought it would be possible as a gay man to grow up and have a family, but here we are, almost in 2019, and anything’s possible.”
He added: “By the way, by the time it became possible, I was kind of having too much fun in my life to say, ‘I don’t think I can do this right now.’ But here I am, I turned 50 this year.
“It takes some people longer to get to that place. And it took me that time. I’m getting wonderful advice and I have a lot of great women in my life.”
The pair also sent on-air congratulations to Ricky Martin and husband Jwan Yosef, who announced the birth of their baby daughter.
Cohen quipped: “All the gays are having babies!”
