Kate Hudson is raising her child ‘genderless’ and haters can’t stomach it
Kate Hudson became a mother for the third time in October, but this time she is raising her child with a different approach, one the actor defined as “genderless.”
The Almost Famous star, who has two boys from two previous relationships, was asked in an interview with AOL if it feels different to raise a baby girl.
“It doesn’t really change my approach, but there’s definitely a difference. I think you just raise your kids individually regardless—like a genderless [approach],” Hudson replied.
“We still don’t know what she’s going to identify as.”

She continued: “We still don’t know what she’s going to identify as. I will say that, right now, she is incredibly feminine in her energy, her sounds and her way,
“It’s very different from the boys, and it’s really fun to actually want to buy kids’ clothes. With the boys it was just like onesies … actually, I did pretty good with the boys. [Laughs] But with her it’s a whole other ball game. There’s some stuff that I’m like, ‘I can’t do that to her, because it’s so over-the-top.'”
Hudson and her partner Danny Fujikawa welcomed their daughter Rani Rose Hudson Fujikawa to the world on October 2, after first announcing the pregnancy via a balloon-popping gender reveal party in April.
Kate Hudson judged in dozens of comments for ‘genderless’ approach
Several of the actor’s Instagram posts, dating as far back as April’s gender reveal video, have received dozens of comments judging Hudson’s “genderless approach” to raising her child.
Some comments below pictures Hudson shared questioned the star’s use of female pronouns for her child.
Other comments were added in the past 24 hours to various pictures of her baby, particularly one of the most recent posts showing Hudson feeding her child.
Some of the remarks are particularly hostile, with some calling Hudson a “freak,” “nuts” and “sick.” Others, disturbingly, make references to the baby’s genitalia.
A few more invoke God’s will. “Are you seriously doing this stupid trendy genderless crap? Its insane, God gave you a little girl…..just make sure she becomes a strong woman!!” one comment read.
Another comment used capital letters to best deliver their point. “I Pray Your Daughter sticks with, and REMAIN With what GOD PLANNED her to Be,and that’s a FEMALE.”
