BRIT Awards 2019: Watch Pink blow viewers away with her performance
US singer Pink has blown away viewers with her BRIT Awards performance.
After picking up the outstanding contribution to music honour at the BRIT Awards on Wednesday (February 20), the American singer executed a medley which used fire, water and aerial travel to dazzle fans.
Pink also appeared in front of an anti-racism sign during her rendition of “What About Us.”

The star started off in a dressing gown for “Walk Me Home.” She then donned a huge red feather boa before descending onto the stage for “Just Like Fire”—accompanied, naturally, by flame jets.
Pink put on a leather jacket and was joined by Bastille’s lead singer Dan Smith, a choir and plumes of artificial smoke for “Just Give Me A Reason,” before splashing through water during an epic performance of “Try.”
Pink praised online for her BRIT Awards medley
The singer received a rapturous ovation from the audience at The O2 Arena in London, and also won praise from those watching at home.
British singer Olly Murs tweeted: “Wow this @Pink performance #BRITS2019 absolute ’s .”
“Pink is absolutely amazing. I NEED to see her in concert.”

One fan wrote: “Well sweet jesus, Pink is absolutely amazing. I NEED to see her in concert. Note perfect, what a performance!!! .”
Others thought that the US singer was setting an example for everyone else.
One of these supporters tweeted: “Pink showing you how it’s done,” while another said: “Pink currently teaching everyone in the room how it’s done .”
BRIT Awards winner Pink has repeatedly stood up for LGBT+ rights
Pink has long been an advocate of LGBT+ equality.
In 2017, when asked about her sexuality, the singer said: “I don’t know yet. And I never say never.”
But regardless of how she identifies, Pink has supported the queer community over and over, like in 2018 when she shared a snap on social media of herself in a Make America Gay Again baseball cap—parodying the President Donald Trump‘s red “MAGA” hats.
And at the 2017 MTV VMAs, she name-checked George Michael and Freddie Mercury while making an impassioned defence of genderfluid and non-binary people.
She said that she had told her then-six-year-old child Willow, who like her often dresses in a masculine style, that she has faced criticisms and judgment from people over her appearance.
“They say that I look like a boy, or I am too masculine—too many opinions, my body is too strong,” Pink recalled.
“I said to her: ‘Do you see me growing my hair?’ She said, ‘No, mama.’
“I said: ‘Do you see me changing my body?’ ‘No, mama.’
“‘Do you see me changing the way I present myself to the world?’ ‘No, mama.’”
And finally: “‘Do you see me selling out arenas all over the world?’ ‘Yes, mama.’”
“So, baby, girl,” she finished, “we don’t change. We take the gravel and the shell, and we make a pearl. And we help other people to change, so that they can see more kinds of beauty.”
