Pat Robertson says gays will destroy society for ‘their weird way of doing sex’

Televangelist Pat Robertson has claimed that gay people are willing to destroy society to protect “their weird way of doing sex.”

Robertson, 88, is the host of nationally-syndicated Christian Broadcasting Network show The 700 Club, which airs on Disney-ABC channel Freeform.

Speaking on The 700 Club on Monday (February 25), Robertson made the comments in response to the action taken against a Philadelphia adoption agency, which allegedly had its city contract dropped over policies that discriminate against same-sex parents.

Pat Robertson: Gay people willing to destroy lives for ‘weird way of doing sex’

Robertson said: “The incredible thing about the homosexuals is they are willing to destroy lives and destroy the whole fabric of society so long as they and their weird way of doing sex is legitimised.

“That’s what they want, and they will take away everything. They will destroy marriage, they will destroy families, they will destroy, in this case, the foster children.

“They are willing to tear down the entire edifice in order to have the majority of people recognise the way they do sex.”

Robertson added that gay people are “taking charge of the rest of us because they are so vocal and dominate legislative bodies.”

He claimed: “I think if Christians begin to speak out and insist that if some politician goes along with the gay agenda, that they’re going to be voted out of office.

“Once they get that message, they’ll start saying, ‘We want to listen to the majority of the people in our society.’

“Until they do, that small minority is going to be dominating everything we do and every aspect of our lives.”

700 Club host Pat Robertson frequently targets LGBT people

It is the latest anti-LGBT tirade in just days from Robertson, who launched into another on-air condemnation on February 21.

He had claimed: “You know, I hate to say it, but the homosexual agenda has gotten so pervasive, it is taking the thought processes of colleges, universities, all the way up and down the line, the bathrooms, and all the transgender, and so forth.”

Speaking about people who believe Jesus was gay, Robertson said: “I just think it is a lie from the devil.

“Jesus Christ, you know, was the perfect man. He never sinned in the whole time he lived, and he obviously wasn’t engaged with any relationship with any fellow man.

“There’s no support for that in the Bible whatsoever. Nothing in history. Nothing whatsoever. But it is a fiction that is created by the tiny minority who are in that L-G-B-F, all those numbers (…) the Q for ‘queer’ at the end!

“But there’s no foundation whatsoever.”

The Disney-owned Freeform channel is contractually required to air The 700 Club under a legal agreement that stems from the channel’s original ownership by Robertson’s Christian Broadcasting Network.

Disney has reportedly made unsuccessful efforts to ditch the programme from its schedules in the past.

In 2016, Vulture reported that Robertson had rejected a multi-million dollar contract buyout offer from Disney.

A spokesperson for the preacher insisted: “The 700 Club will continue to air now and in perpetuity on the network.”
