BritBox: ITV and BBC streaming service cost and launch date in UK
BritBox is the BBC and ITV’s newly announced streaming service which will become the “biggest collection of British content available on any streaming service.”
Netflix and Amazon Prime are due yet another rival with BritBox soon being launched for the UK public. It will be a new streaming service formed by a joint partnership between the BBC and ITV aimed for UK audiences.
The on-demand platform claims to be the “biggest collection of British content available on any streaming service.” The original streaming service will provide an unrivalled collection of original series and British boxsets.
What is BritBox and how does it work?
BritBox, currently available in North America, has broken targets with over half a million subscribers.
The website reads: “Wonderful world of British TV. Watch anywhere. 7 days free trial, cancel anytime.”
However, until the UK release, BritBox is exclusively available in the United States and Canada.
Carolyn McCall, CEO of ITV, is excited about bringing the streaming platform BritBox to the UK.

When will BritBox be available in the UK?
The exact launch date is yet to be confirmed but it is expected to become available for UK audiences after June 2019.
How much will BritBox cost?
Neither the BBC nor ITV have confirmed pricing, however, it will be competitive, and interested parties can subscribe to the new British streaming platform so they’re the first to know when it becomes available.
How will it be funded?
ITV’s net investment in the streaming platform will be up to £25 million in 2019, increasing to around £40 million in 2020. Meanwhile, the BBC said that no licence fee funding will be used to pay for the service, and it will comment on its own investment at a later stage.
