Nurse Jackie star Stephen Wallem gets engaged to his boyfriend

Gay actor Stephen Wallem has got engaged to his long-term partner, theatre director Tony Humrichouser.
The star, who played Thor Lundgren on Showtime comedy-drama Nurse Jackie, announced the news in the early hours of Thursday (March 7) morning, with a Twitter photo of the pair showing off their beautiful engagement rings.
Wallem captioned the picture with the simple message: “He said yes ❤️.”

On Wednesday (March 6), Wallem, 50, celebrated his tenth anniversary with Humrichouser.
He posted a picture of the couple on Instagram, writing: “The first photo we ever took together. Ten years ago.
“My everything. Happy Anniversary, @tonelabone.”
Less than 24 hours later, the two were engaged.
The actor’s sister, Linda Wallem, married Oscar and Grammy-award winning rock singer Melissa Etheridge in 2012.
Guests at the wedding reportedly included Rosie O’Donnell, Chelsea Handler, Whitney Cummings, Peter Facinelli and Sia.

Wallem’s engagement was just the latest in a long line of wonderful same-sex proposals to take place over the past year.
Last month, a lesbian couple who met on the Irish edition of First Dates got engaged.
Shannon Whelan proposed to Ciara Smyth on February 15, after the pair met during an episode of the show in 2017.

In January, Hollyoaks star Jimmy Essex got engaged to his long-term partner, a musician called Charles.
Essex revealed on January 21 that his fiancé had proposed to him with a diamond ring during the pair’s holiday in Sri Lanka.
The 30-year-old star, who played Adam Donovan on Hollyoaks, shared a photo of him and Charles kissing on Instagram with the caption: “So … this happened. ”
Transgender singer Teddy Geiger announced that she was engaged to Schitt’s Creek actress Emily Hampshire in a series of emotional posts on Instagram in November.

In her first post, Geiger shared a photo of herself and Hampshire, saying: “I love this woman so much she treats me like a lil princess and makes me laugh harder than anyone.

She then wrote: “Which is why… When she asked me if I wanted to spend the rest of our lives together I said… YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES INFINITE YES.”
