Gay Dumbledore memes after JK Rowling reveals ‘passionate’ sex life

Fans got very smutty about the gay Dumbledore meme

Harry Potter fans have reacted to JK Rowling’s revelation that Albus Dumbledore had an “intense” sexual relationship with gay erotica and memes.

The author revealed this month that the fan favourite Hogwarts headmaster, played by Jude Law in the Fantastic Beasts prequel films, had a “passionate” sexual relationship with dark wizard Gellert Grindelwald, played by Johnny Depp.

Fans responded with gay Dumbledore memes, making light of the author’s penchant for retroactive inclusion of diversity in the Harry Potter universe, given the absence of visibly queer characters from the books and movies themselves.

Another fan joked:  “Nobody:

“JK Rowling: don’t even get me STARTED on Moaning Myrtle.”

Rowling, usually a prolific Twitter user, has not responded to the viral Twitter meme.

The author sustained mockery previously for revelations about the Potter universe, claiming in January that before toilets existed, wizards “simply relieved themselves wherever they stood, and vanished the evidence.”

JK Rowling said Dumbledore and Grindelwald relationship had ‘sexual dimension’

Speaking on the Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald Blu-ray release, Rowling said of Grindelwald and Dumbledore: “Their relationship was incredibly intense… it was passionate, and it was a love relationship.

“But as happens in any relationship, gay or straight or whatever label we want to put on it, one never knows really what the other person is feeling.”

She added: “I’m less interested in the sexual side—though I believe there is a sexual dimension to this relationship—than I am in the sense of the emotions they felt for each other, which ultimately is the most fascinating thing about all human relationships.”

Fantastic Beasts director David Yates added: “This is a story about two men who loved each other, and ultimately have to fight each other. It’s a story for the 21st Century.”

The comments come after Fantastic Beasts picked up criticism for skirting the subject of the romance between the two characters.

In the film, Dumbledore hints that the pair were “closer than brothers,” and one flashback sequence featured a homoerotic moment between the lovers.

However, the plot was largely sidelined in the film, leading to accusations that it was being downplayed to allow the blockbuster’s release in overseas markets that forbid depictions of same-sex relationships.
