Drag queen goes viral for performance of ‘Baby Shark’ for toddler
A New Jersey drag queen has gone viral after posting a video of herself performing children’s song “Baby Shark” at the request of a toddler.
Drag queen Marti Gould Cummings danced along to the song for the two-year-old boy during her drag brunch at Asian-American restuarant Talde in Jersey City on Saturday (March 16).
She can be seen miming the popular track to the toddler and sitting on a table swaying side-to-side.

Footage shows the two-year-old boy happily clapping his hands along to the track.
Cummings uploaded a video of the heartwarming moment to Twitter on Saturday.
“When a 2 year old comes to brunch you perform baby shark for them!!!” she wrote.

The video has been watched more than 600,000 times and “liked” by over 40,000 users.
Cummings told NBC that she decided to do a “drag roulette” on Saturday, where the audience “picks a bunch of songs for us to perform at random.”
“I asked the little boy what he wanted to see performed, because he had been paying attention when I got to their table, and he asked for ‘Baby Shark,’” said the drag artist.
“The DJ quickly found the song online, and we added it to the playlist for him.”

Drag is expression and children are “judgement-free beings,” says drag queen
Cummings, who is also a political activist, dispelled those criticising her over the video on social media.
“Anyone who thinks drag isn’t for children is wrong,” she told NBC News.
“Drag is expression, and children are such judgment-free beings; they don’t really care what you’re wearing, just what you’re performing.”
The drag queen, who sits on board of directors for LGBT+ homelessness organisation Ali Forney Center, added: “It would be nice if us adults could let the child inside of us out for a little bit, so maybe we could all be a little more accepting of others ourselves.”
