Emma Stone plays cheated-on girlfriend in hilarious gay porn sketch

Emma Stone has given what might be her finest performance to date by starring as a struggling actress who is cast in a gay porn film as the cheated-on girlfriend.
In Saturday Night Live‘s “The Actress,” Stone stars as Grace, an actress who is trying to make it big, but has been stuck doing menial jobs.
However, Grace finally lands her dream job: as a woman who walks in on her fiancé while he is having sex with her godson.

“I’d been trying to make it as an actress for years, but I was sick of doing commercials, of playing one-dimensional women with vacant lives,” Grace says as she drives to the gay porn set.
When she arrives on set, Grace introduces herself to the disinterested director as “the woman who gets cheated on in the gay porn.”
After selecting her costume from the “woman bin”—a box full of random bits of women’s clothes—Grace explains that she is struggling to “access” her character, who she names Deirdre.
“I’d been trying to make it as an actress for years, but I was sick of doing commercials, of playing one-dimensional women with vacant lives.”

However, when she tries to improvise lines to add some more depth to the character, the director tells her: “People are just going to scroll past you so they can get off. She has no past, no future, she exists only to be cheated on.”
Grace finally gets her powerful acting moment towards the end of the sketch during another “improvised” moment in which she finally “accesses” Deirdre.

“I saw the rich and beautiful backstory of this woman. Her childhood, her first job, the night she met Jared. The promises she was told,” Grace says.
“I felt the bruises and scars of her past. I saw what led her here.
She continues: “I saw her in the present, walking in on the love of her life with her godson.”
A teary-eyed Grace then improvises by telling her fiancé, Jared, that she forgives him. The director says they can edit out her line later.
One gay porn studio saw the funny side to Stone’s SNL sketch. Men.com tweeted the video with the caption: Touché @nbcsnl!
The same studio once accidentally created a viral meme which might have inspired The Actress. In the a famous scene from the studio, a woman walks in on her boyfriend having sex with a man. She asks her boyfriend in horror: “Right in front of my salad?”
The sketch aired during this weekend’s edition of Saturday Night Live which saw Emma Stone hosting for the fourth time.
Earlier this year, Emma Stone was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for her role in lesbian film The Favourite.
