Embattled YouTube sensation and make-up artist James Charles is accused of asking a straight YouTuber if he was sure “you aren’t gay or bi?” while flirting with him.

Carmie Sellitto claims he met Charles, who was recently accused of inappropriate behaviour with straight men, in July 2018 while attending a YouTuber convention called VideoCon in Anaheim, California.

Sellitto, 20, told DailyMail.com that he approached Charles, 19, at an after party after he allegedly noticed the YouTube sensation had been eyeing him from across.

Sellitto, who is from London, said that he talked to Charles for “about 30 minutes” and swapped social media profiles with the make-up artist.

“A few days later he started contacting me via social media. He was flirty but didn’t say anything inappropriate,” said Sellitto.

“He kept telling me how I was the hottest guy he ever laid his eyes on.”

Once back in London, Sellitto alleges that he kept messaging Charles on social media and “didn’t want to lead him on” and so told him “I wasn’t gay.”

“But James made me question myself. He asked me, ‘Are you sure you aren’t gay or bi? Are you sure?'” Sellitto claimed.

“After this conversation, James blocked me on Instagram and blocked my number. He still follows me on Twitter. I guess he’s forgotten about that.”

James Charles under fire for behaviour with straight men

Charles has recently found himself in hot water over his alleged behaviour with straight men.

Tati Westbrook, a fellow beauty YouTuber and one-time friend of Charles, claimed in a video on May 10 that she had witnessed the make-up artist trying to “trick” straight men into hooking up with him.

Westbrook publicly ended her friendship with Charles in a YouTube video last week after the pair fell out over Charles promoting a rival vitamin pill to her own on Instagram.

“You tried tricking a straight man into thinking he’s gay yet again, and somehow you’re the victim,” Westbrook said in the video.

“You know, it’s really disgusting to manipulate someone’s sexuality, especially when they are still emerging into adulthood and don’t have everything quite figured out.

“You are using your fame, your power, your money to play with people’s emotions.

“You’re threatening to ruin them. You’re threatening to embarrass them. And you’re doing that to have them behave sexually in your favour, even if they’re straight.

“And you know what? That’s not okay. That behaviour’s not okay.”

James Charles losing YouTube followers

Charles’ YouTube subscriber count has dropped dramatically since the video posted by Westbrook last week.

Charles has lost 2.7 million followers in the last 30 days, according to social media monitoring tool Social Blade.
