Spice Girls’ Geri and Little Mix’s Jade to judge RuPaul’s Drag Race UK

Spice Girls’ Geri Horner and Little Mix’s Jade Thirlwall have been confirmed as rotating judges on RuPaul’s Drag Race UK.
The women will join fellow rotating judges Alan Carr and Graham Norton, and will appear alongside RuPaul and Michelle Visage.
Horner—or Ginger Spice—praised the art of drag, saying: “Drag encourages people to be exactly who they are.”

“This show has brought so much joy and pride to people all over the world,” she continued, according to Digital Spy. “I can’t wait for everyone to see the amazing queens representing the UK in this first ever series.”
Meanwhile, Thirlwall said she loves “everything about drag.”
“I love that it’s art,” she continued. “I love how fabulous it is, how fun it is, I love that you can transform your body into a fantastic beautiful woman… the whole thing! I just wish in my next life I can be a drag queen.”

RuPaul’s Drag Race UK is expected to debut on BBC Three in autumn of this year.
Alan Carr said the set was ‘like Fort Knox’
Speaking to Digital Spy in May, Carr said that he and the other judges had to follow strict instructions while on set.
“It was like, no phones, the most securitied thing ever,” he said.
“It was like Fort Knox. It was amazing to be part of something like that and no one is going to be disappointed.
“I’m going to get in to trouble even for saying that. It’s really good, that’s all I can say.”
Carr and Norton were announced as judges for the eight-part series in February.
Graham Norton is ‘ridiculously happy’ to be judging on RuPaul’s Drag Race UK
Speaking at the time, Norton said being part of the show made him “ridiculously happy.”
“I can’t wait to see what the UK drag queens bring to the party, but they better weeeeerk,” he said.
Meanwhile, Maisie Williams, who is best known for playing Arya Stark in Game of Thrones, was announced as a guest judge in May.
“What I love the most about drag is the story of the drag queen behind the façade,” she said.
“I think that so much of drag comes from a place of real pain and seeing how that transforms into a character is so interesting to me. I love that about art and about drag.”
