New York wedding dress designer refuses to make piece for lesbian couple

A same-sex lesbian couple in Missouri are speaking out after a wedding dress designer in New York refused to sell one of them a wedding outfit because they are lesbians.
Tiffany Allen and her fiancée Angel Lane wrote to New York-based wedding dress designers D. Auxilly to ask about a $1,500 jumpsuit that Lane wanted to wear to their wedding.
But in an emailed response, Dominique Galbraith of D. Auxilly said, “I wouldn’t be able to make a piece for a same-sex wedding.”
“It goes against my faith in Christ,” Galbraith added.
Galbraith then appeared to try and convert the couple to heterosexuality, saying, “I believe Jesus died for our sins so that we would live for him according to His Holy Word.”
“I know you both love each other and that this feels right but I encourage you both to reconsider and see what the Lord has to say and the wonderful things He has in store for you both if you trust and obey Him,” she said.
Finally, Galbraith said, “God Bless and be with you both! I’m available to talk and share more about Jesus if you’d like. Feel free to call me.”
Seven-year lesbian relationship
Allen said, “I hurt because I feel like we weren’t good enough.”
Allen and Lane have been together for seven years. Lane said that the jumpsuit was the “only thing I found that I fell in love with” and that she “couldn’t stop thinking about it.”
“I have friends who are Christians,” Lane said. “I know people from so many walks of life and none of them are hateful to me and my fiancée.”
“True Christian people, whether they’re Catholic, whether they’re Baptist, it doesn’t matter, a person that truly has their heart will tell you God doesn’t make any mistakes then I’m not a mistake,” Allen said. “My fiancée is not a mistake.”
Although Missouri laws do not prohibit discrimination on the grounds of sexual orientation, laws in New York do, says St Louis University law professor Marcia McCormick.
She told KVTI, ‘The dressmaker is violating New York State law that prohibits discrimination on basis of sexual orientation.”
