Lance Bass came out to Britney Spears on her wedding night
Lance Bass has revealed how he came out to Britney Spears to stop her from crying on her wedding night.
When he heard that Spears had married her childhood friend Jason Alexander back in 2004, Bass said that he travelled to Las Vegas to “see the craziness that was happening.”
“She was a little upset once she had realised what she had done, it was a funny thing, and then she started really crying,” he revealed on Andy Cohen’s Watch What Happens Live.
“She was so upset and so I took her to her room and we were sitting on the bed and she wouldn’t stop crying, so I was like, ‘I’m gay,’ and it made her stop crying. She chuckled.”
Britney Spears ‘marriage lasted 55 hours
Spears’ marriage was annulled after just 55 hours. She later said that the wedding was “me being silly, being rebellious.”
Later that year she married her one-time dancer Kevin Federline, with whom she went on to have two sons with. The couple divorced in 2007, during a period of well-publicised personal struggles for the singer.

Bass came out publicly in 2006, four years after *NSYNC went on a permanent hiatus.
He said that while part of the group, he feared his sexuality could “be the end of *NSYNC.”
“I knew that I was in this popular band and I had four other guys’ careers in my hand, and I knew that if I ever acted on it or even said (that I was gay), it would overpower everything,” he told People Magazine in 2006.

He married husband Michael Turchin in 2014, becoming the first openly gay celebrity to get married on US cable television.
The couple have recently opened up about their journey towards becoming parents, revealing that they have had six unsuccessful surrogacy attempts.
“Number seven is looking like it’s going to work, so I think we have all the elements now,” he told the website She Knows on June 28.
