‘Straight pride’ announces far-right speaker and actually has its own rap
Super Happy Fun America (SHFA), the organiser of the Boston “straight pride” parade, has announced speakers for the event including a member of a far-right group.
Speaker Enrique Tarrio is the leader of Proud Boys, a far-right organisation listed by the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) as a white-nationalist, extremist hate group.
The group states on its website: “We long for the days when ‘girls were girls and men were men.’
“This wasn’t controversial even twenty years ago, but being proud of Western culture today is like being a crippled, black, lesbian communist in 1953.”
According to the SPLC, the founder of Proud Boys and leader preceding Tarrio, Gavin McInnes, previously said: “Palestinians are stupid. Muslims are stupid. And the only thing they really respect is violence and being tough.”
The group, which is strictly cisgender men only, has been linked to multiple violent incidents.
Two members were arrested earlier this year over an alleged homophobic attack, and in October 2018 members were filmed attacking people and shouting homophobic slurs.
Tarrio has been suspended from Twitter, and according to “straight pride” organisers he was “censored on social media… for exercising his first Amendment rights.”
According to ABC news, Tarrio admitted to attending the “Unite the Right” march in Charlottesville where participants were filmed chanting “f*** you, faggots.”
The “straight pride rap” has been liked five times on Soundcloud
Another speaker announced was G Notes Justice, who according to SHFA wrote the “official straight pride rap.”
Lyrics include: “When you know you can procreate with a woman, and raise beautiful children… look at the people, thinking you evil, just because you want to see the human race have a sequel.”
His other songs include Presidential (Vote for Trump) and Lock Her Up (Super predator), about Hilary Clinton.
At the time of writing (July 27), the “straight pride rap” has been liked five times on Soundcloud.
