Game of Thrones star Laura Pradelska faces transphobic abuse in London

Game of Thrones star Laura Pradelska has spoken out after she was barraged with anti-transgender abuse in a London shop.

The German-born actress, who played the mysterious masked woman Quaithe in the second season of Game of Thrones, explained that she had intervened in an argument over queue-jumping on Wednesday (July 31) in Zara on Oxford Street.

Taking to Twitter, she said: “One of the women [screamed] in my face that I’m a TRANSGENDER whore – completely insignificant whether I am trans or not but I’d hope Zara would NEVER tolerate this behaviour.

“The women should’ve been kicked out!”

Speaking to MailOnline, she added: “For some reason, they thought I am transgender, which is fine.

“I have a lot of transgender friends. It was just for them, I think, to say something ‘really horrible’ in their mind, which isn’t a horrible thing to me at all. It’s a very natural human thing.

“So the woman turned around and just screamed, I’m a ‘transgender whore’ and I shouldn’t belong in this world, I’m ugly and she doesn’t know where I come from but wherever it is, I should get the f**k back.

“It was just horrendous. It was quite a few of them, it got worse and worse and people got involved.”

She added: “Calling me ugly, transgender, I’m not really a woman… if I were, that isn’t the point.

“It’s the fact they made it something bad, which angered me so much, the fact that they made it into a horrible thing, that’s very normal to me and many other people.”

The star called on the retail chain to make clear that it would not tolerate abusive behaviour in its stores.
