Husband and wife file for annulment after both coming out as gay
A newly-wed husband and wife have filed for an annulment shortly after getting married as they realised they are both gay.
Jo Turner, 30, and Scott Turner-Smith, 25, assumed they were both straight when they wed 13 months ago, but it turns out that’s not the case.
The husband and wife have now come out to their families and signed a nullity petition to make their marriage invalid.
Dentist Jo tweeted: “We have had a hoot when signing the nullity petition today — ‘invalid consent by mistake — turns out we’re both gay’. Enjoy that, Judge. The screenplay will be out next year.”

Scott, a former Tory councillor, had come out on Twitter the day before. He wrote to his followers: “I’ve composed and deleted this tweet a thousand times, but here goes: I’m gay.
“Those I’ve told so far have been wonderful, and for that I’m more grateful than they know. It feels freeing to be able to be my whole self, and I’m excited to find out what’s next.”

Both Jo and Scott have remained on good terms and reportedly still go on nights out together.
Congratulations to the newly-annulled couple!
