Superstar DJ Zedd shuts down ‘homophobe’ after gay couple gets engaged at his concert
DJ Zedd has hit out at a Twitter user who said a gay couple who got engaged at his concert were “disgusting”.
Zedd’s stunning put-down came after a man called David decided to propose to his boyfriend while Zedd performed his hit song ‘Clarity’ at a concert. He was overjoyed when his boyfriend said yes.
To make sure the moment had a life of its own, a friend of the couple recorded the entire proposal and posted the video on Twitter where he tagged Zedd.
Zedd is ‘so happy’ for gay couple who got engaged at his concert.
Zedd replied to the video and said: “Awww congrats!!!! So happy for you guys and THANK YOU FOR DOING THIS DURING MY SHOW.” He finished his tweet with a series of heart emojis.
While Zedd was delighted for the happy couple – as were many other commenters – it didn’t take long for a Twitter user to say something homophobic.
I’ve found my one and only, and I will love and keep him forever.
“Soo disgusting AF,” the Twitter user wrote.
@Zedd this happened last night at your show in Houston! Thank you for the beautiful back drop for this special night! #loveislove pic.twitter.com/mJR9XznbTD

But Zedd wasn’t interested in their put-downs. He simply replied: “Get the f**k outta here!”
Man who proposed at concert said he has found his ‘one and only’.
The amazing video has been viewed more than 2.6 million times since it was posted on Twitter and shows the amazing moment David gets down on one knee.
His boyfriend turns around to face him, realises what’s happening, and looks immediately shocked and overwhelmed.
David replied to the tweet and wrote: “This was me proposing to @ju_duran8. @Pelon1 is my best friend I had NO idea he tweeted this. To see everyone’s comments has touched my heart so deeply. I’ve found my one and only, and I will love and keep him forever,” he said, alongside a heart emoji.
In another tweet, David explained that ‘Clarity’ was their “first song together.”
“I’ll probably tear up every time I hear it now,” he wrote. “Thank you for giving me the venue for the happiest moment of my entire life.”
Zedd – who is German – has had a string of hits since he burst onto the music scene in 2012. He has released songs with various artists including Ariana Grande, Selena Gomez and Alessia Cara over the years.
